About Me

Hey y’all, I’m Monisha!

For the past 7 years I have worked in the fashion industry as an apparel technical designer. It is my responsibility to make sure that the clothing fits properly before is it sold in stores. I've been able to learn so much about construction techniques and pattern-making and 3D design but the everyday stresses made me occasionally feel like I was losing my love for fashion.

At first, this blog was only going to be a creative outlet for me, but it’s way more than that. It became a form of therapy and one of the best ways to honor my parents who recently passed away. 

I attribute most of my creativity and passion for making things to them both. 

Growing up, some of my fondest memories with my Mom were going to Michael’s for weekend workshops or watching HGTV together and admiring my dad re-upholster furniture. They both knew that having my own show was one of my dreams. So, I decided to create ‘Making It With Mo’ to share my love of fashion and creation with everyone. 

My goal is to take my experience as well as my love for crafting to build  community where novice to advance designers can come to find some inspiration to create something,  take-away a few tips and skills that you can use.  We will explore fashion design, pattern-making, home decor DIY's and much more!
